Littlepaw

A hardworking tom that is determined to become the best possible warrior for his Clan. He has undying loyalty to his Clan and always does his best for them. This apprentice is six moons old at the moment. Littlepaw is a black and white tom with dark green eyes. The only fur that grows on his body is extremely short, so touching him feels like touching a peach. He has a long, slender tail that has a white tuft of hair on the end, and he is about two inches smaller than the average cat. Due to his lack of fur Littlepaw gets cold quite easily and is more likely to get sick. Littlepaw know this, and has been working on his endurance. His mentor is a tom named Wavecrash, and Littlepaw is very excited to learn all there is to know from him. It takes a couple of days before he can be fully comfortable when talking to others, but when he does they will learn that he is very polite and genuinely cares about those around him. When he isn't training, he tries to think of ways to boost the morale of his clanmates and his fellow apprentices. Like any young cat, he is naive and easily believes what others say. He could never consider the idea that someone would have vile intentions. Littlepaw struggles with identifying and dealing with his emotions. It's even worse when it comes to strong and/or negative emotions such as grief or jealousy. He often wonders what others think of him and his appearance. Those thoughts usually lead to him to worrying that other cats think that he is weak, ugly, or not useful to his Clan. There is a logical side of him that says that isn't true but he finds that it is hard to listen to that side sometimes. He gets pretty nervous around others, especially when around those of the opposite gender. He finds himself feeling overwhelmed with fear, nervousness, or other emotions when put in tense situations. Once he gets near the borders, he becomes cautious because of an imaginary fear that something bad will happen near them. In short, Littlepaw is a RiverClan apprentice that wants to do the best for his Clan but he still is a naive and insecure young cat.Smallstream, a loyal RiverClan warrior, gives birth to a litter of kits in late Greenleaf. Most of the kits died within the next few days, but one of them did live. Ironically, that kit was the smallest in the litter, and it was thought that they would die first. The name that Smallstream had given the kitten was Littlekit, due to his small size. From the moment that Littlekit could hear, Smallstream and his father, Nighttail, had begun explaining the world to him. His mother had planted several ideas into his head that would stick with him for the rest of his life. She taught him that everyone in the Clan helped protect it in one way or another and that a warrior's duty was to fight and feed the Clan. Over the course of his kit-hood, Littlepaw was told that good warriors only cared about those around them. He holds those teachings close to his heart and believes in them wholly. Aside from his teaching and memorizing the camp and the names of those in his Clan, nothing much really happened in his kit-hood. He received tips on what was the correct fighting or hunting stance, but that was only occasionally. His life as a kit was pretty standard, get in trouble here, learn something there, explore over there.... Fairly simple. Before he knew it, Littlekit was ready to become an apprentice. He remembers that day clearly. When he woke up, his mother had purred to him that it was a very special day. He asked her why, and she told him that he was to become an apprentice that day. Littlekit had been filled with excitement, and Smallstream had been flooded with a sense of pride and happiness. He was so thrilled that he had trouble staying in one place. His mother had to hold him still so that she could wash him. She was very thorough and she told him that she wanted him to look his very best for all of his ceremonies. When he had finally been called to become an apprentice and receive his mentor, Littlekit felt a feeling of nervousness suddenly wash over him. It made it a lot more difficult to deal with his ceremony, but he managed to get over it. On that day he was given the title of 'Littlepaw' and he was to be the apprentice of fellow RiverClan cat Wavecrash. He felt nervous and awkward during that first night in the Apprentice's Den, but there was a sense of pride and happiness that helped him drift off to sleep. Two or three days after his apprenticeship, Smallstream and Nighttail strangely disappeared. There were no signs of them anywhere, but it is believed that they had passed away. The loss filled Littlepaw with grief and a crushing feeling of loneliness. He spent a few days sulking and not really focused on his duties. Then one day, after falling asleep late at night, mourning his parents, he had a peculiar dream. In it were faint images of his parents. He heard their voices in the distance, telling him that even though it was sad, he had to focus on becoming an astounding warrior for his Clan, just like they used to talk about. Littlepaw did fancy the idea of a place where you live after you die, but he hadn't actually fully believed in StarClan before. However, after that dream he had begun to think that such a place really did exist, and that his parents were watching over him from there. The next day, he had was filled with new determination. On that day, Littlepaw vowed that he would proudly give it his all to serve his Clan!
